This tower is able to release a burst attack.

Abilities
Burst Lightning
Has a 20% chance on attack to fire 2 extra projectiles at random creeps in 300 range around the main target. Each extra projectile deals the same amount of damage as a normal attack.

+1 extra projectile at levels 15 and 25

The question that comes to my mind.... is why would anybody ever go something other than Thief or Trash Heap to start.... snowballing items so important.
By the time you wanna switch to a midgame carry, this tower is already out of date.
I'm not sure what the oomph should be. Maybe it's more damage.... maybe not.

For a very quick change, I'd honestly just increase the gold cost of each member so that it more nicely fits into the early-midgame carry position, and also try to find some small increase in it's later level potential. Maybe +1 at 15, and +2 at 25....? Or a higher increase rate of projectiles.

I can't compare this to Thief/Heap as they are much cheaper. Lantern also painful because upgrade levels are a bit too high. Beside goldcost change i'd also lower level reqs to be useful in early game.

I'm not sure what you mean by level requirements.
Minimum wave a tower can be seen is defined by gold cost.
Base damage is also by gold cost and by range.
When I say defined, I mean the map decides it. Users do not.

Ok so if you raise goldcost it won't really solve basic problem with Lantern.
We need more powerful ability then.

Or one additional item slot.

Raising the goldcost changes when it's found/considered.

Current list of changes (tbd):

Raise gold costs across family.
Increase range to 1600.
???? Increase ability strength...?

Idk frankly what's wrong have you found with this tower.
Put some skulls/teeth into it, boost it with OP Phantom and it will do it's job.
Make it stronger? Ok, im with it, im always for making towers stronger to get more fun and less disturbance.
Though Storm leaks rather late game carry than mid game carry i think.
After all much more urgent updates wait for years already to pass all the bureaucracy of YouTD, so good luck with this one :D .

    Make all family members have the same projectile count, chance and scaling as the last member. Why should the later members have all the fun?
    Lower the goldcost of the last 2 family members and add a 5th member at 2800 cost, so there's less waves between upgrades.
    Leave the range at 1000. Increasing it will only make it weaker.
    Reduce the base APS so burst triggers are more... bursty.

    As for making it stronger? Some creativity needed there. You could simply raise the abil factor (boring) or...
    Increased base crit damage?
    Make extra projectiles chain/bounce?
    Extra projectiles leave a debuff that increases damage taken from extra projectiles?

For the time being at least, I am going to stick with boring.

Current changes will be:
1600 range
Lowering attack speed a tad
No changes to ability at this time.
Increase cost of last member...? Maybe add a 5th, not sure.

I'd rather go slower and not break something, than overtune and have a new Shadow for however long between updates xD.

PS: The new range should give it MORE damage most of the time.

If you're going to increase range then increase projectile speed as well, so it will not send perfect and deadly bursts into a corpse of a creep killed by a previous attack.

Yes, projectile speed will be increased. I'm thinking of 'silent' ways to make performance more robust. Right now it only fires out extra projectiles every .2 seconds, so.... it can clearly take a full second to finish.

I'm thinking that maybe when it triggers, the projectiles could either all come at once, and follow an arc in.

Also, increasing the range of this tower, while lowering the BASE damage.... works better with dps items (which aren't range adjusted), works better with skink ( skink is adjusted linearly by range, but range increases potential damage quadratically), works better with towers at max damage, and most importantly.... should increase this towers overall damage.

There is 5+1+1 extra projectiles for last member on lvl 25, so it will take 1.4 seconds to release them all.

So, maybe change this:
-Range to 1600
-Projectile velocity increase
-Lower atck cooldown

And maybe add some permanent bonus like +20% dmg to mass or +1%/lvl attack speed and so on.
May be +2% dmg/lvl and -1% atckspeed/lvl (2 bonuses a the same time) insead of/in addition to lowering atck cooldown
