This item has a strange smell.

Ok, I'll rephrase: does it duplicates only itself or any other item into your tower's itemslot? Still don't get the idea behind this item.

Ok it can be used with another 2/4 items of the same rarity to forge another/better item. It looks too weak for me. While 20 waves at the start of the game can be passed very quick as you can press 'Spawn Next Level' button, 20 waves after 80-120th wave take much tume to be passed. I'd prefer Backpack or Dumpster in that case. It shouldn't increase required number of levelspawns after first duplicate. Even Spellbook of Item Mastery sometimes looks hard to achieve new benefits when it drops mid-to-late game.

Another question: after this item duplicates itself the duplicate will first time duplicate itself after 20 spawns or the same 30spawns?

The item creates a duplicate every 20 waves.
The duplicates created by the first create a duplicate every 30 waves.
The duplicates created by the duplicates created by the first create a duplicate every 40 waves.

Nice idea you had here hehe. I love the concept. But 20 waves hum unless you get it like before wave 20 i dont think it will be that usefull and even if you get it before lvl 20 but it can become abusable as well if you low the ammount of waves needed to duplicate but maybe make the main item duplicate in 15 waves then duplicate for the 2nd 30 and then +10 per each basicly just change the first one.

Or a new idea... Each 10 waves you have an increased 0.333(...) chance for it to duplicate, if it doesnt duplicate on the 10th wave, on the 20th wave you will have 0.666(...) chance for it to duplicate. And if it doesnt duplicate, well then on wave 30th it will duplicate for sure. Each time it duplicates this process resets ofc. So if at wave 20th where i have already 0.666 chance the item duplicates. In 10 waves the chance will be again 0.333. (For the clones lower the chance instead of 1/3, 1/6 for example per 10 waves)

PS: Do you need a free slot on the tower for the duplication?

Duplicates will go into the carrier's inventory if there is room, otherwise they drop on the ground and fly to stash.


--- I realize now that I need to do some more stuff if I don't want to trigger the "Your item was returned to your item stash!" message every time this item duplicates with full inventory.

I don't think you should bother with putting in a decaying function in the wave timer at all. Even if you get this at wave 10, you will have 2 items at wave 30, 4 items at wave 50, 8 items at wave 70, 16 items at wave 90, 32 items at wave 110 and only after then it should really take off.

The realistic scenario, however, you will most likely only have 10 towers or less, and with most towers with an average of 4 slots, you can at most hold around 40 items. This is only looks amazing on paper because you will be running a huge disadvantage by leaving out items that will really help you, like + damage or + exp or + item find etc. So realistically, out of your 10 towers, you will only have 4-5 support towers that you can afford to fill up with crappy items, so you will be able to hold optimally 20 items.

At 20 item capacity, you should be getting 20 common items every 20 waves, which if you convert to uncommon items, would yield a whooping 4 blue items. In truth, clogging up 20 items slots over 20 waves to give you 4 blue items is not exactly overpowered or anything. Especially after wave 90, you should be getting more than 4 blue items out of every 20 waves from holding a couple of decent + item find items on your carry.

I think this item will have it's place with certain builders like the realist, or extra early game chances of cubing a + exp item or tooth trophy, but late game, each item slots is much more valuable than the 1/20 chance of getting 1 blue item every 5 waves (1% chance of getting a blue item each wave, or 100% chance of getting a blue item every 100 wave = 2 items per game).

Just remove the extra timer and the item will fine, not useless, but definitely not overpowered.

@ Deemzul: Nah, tower should just explode if it has more items than it can carry, wiping out all the creeps on the map, except for one designated players' (who you designate at the start of the game, and this designation is saved into your savecode).

It really shouldn't take off. There can be things that are only midly useful.

Doesn't compete with normal item drops, you get both, so comparing this to that doesn't really do anything for me.
