Description
A device created to unleash fiery explosions.

Abilities
Firestorm
Attacks have a 12% chance to apply 3 charges of Firestorm to the target. Each second, a charge will be spent, dealing 100 spell damage to enemies in 300 range. If the target already has charges, the charges will accumulate and a charge will be consumed instantly. On death all remaining firestorm charges get consumed at once.

Level Bonus:
+0.4% chance
+3 damage

Status:
OUTDATED: This tower was replaced by Firestorm Generator v19

This is the discussion thread for the tower update Firestorm Cell (1932).
This tower is an update to Firestorm Cell v4 (id:1881)

Creator's comments for this update:

- Increased buff duration
- new picture for first family member
- Added firestorm on death mechanism

Question of mine: Am I wrong or is the aoe spell damage unnecessary complicated applied by iterating over all creeps within a certain range instead of using tower.doSpellDamageAoEUnit?

Using AoE functions would be preferable when doing nothing but damage, but not forced. It has some effects on crit behavior (one crit for all vs. separate crits for all).

The tower has been updated to version v6!

Creator's reason for this update:

- replaced iterate code with doSpellDamageAoE code
- doing so I realized that the code applied 300 range aoe damage so I adjusted the tooltip.
- uploaded pictures for 3rd and 4th family member. Had to use in game screenshots because they look messed up in the editor.

e: slightly reduced firestorm effect size for 4th family member

Not sure if I should remerge the tooltip... Apart from that does anything else need to be changed?

I would remerge the tooltip.

The function 'ashbringer_firestorm_periodic' in its current form would cause the buff to linger for one period's length without charges. The following would not:

function ashbringer_firestorm_periodic takes Buff b returns nothing
    call ashbringer_firestorm_damage(b.getCaster() , b.getBuffedUnit())
    set b.userInt = b.userInt - 1
    if b.userInt <= 0 then
        call b.removeBuff()
    endif
endfunction
