Whats about this tooltips (fits the gerneral tooltip desing a bit more):

Please remove/disable the periodic trigger, it has no use.

It was used to detect lvel downs but ill update it with the new devkit And use the level down function.

-remove periodic (idk why you needed it anyway. Whether its a level up or level down, your code still sets the bonus correctly.)
-idk if goldcost is high enough for what this item offers at level 25. Since its squared growth, goldcost shouldn't be calculated at lvl 10, but a bit higher i think..

What if put these lines into globals as they're used several times in your code:
local Item itm // (via getUID method)
local Unit tower = itm.getCarrier()
local real level = tower.getLevel()
local real dps_add = (level*level)*4


functions periodic and OnLevelUp copy each other. Itcan be used either on periodic with period = 1 or onLevelUp event
